How to Draw a Retriever Dog with Pencil Step-By-Step Tutorial

A retriever dog is a type of gun dog that retrieves game for a hunter. Generally, gun dogs are divided into three major classifications: retrievers, flushing spaniels, and pointing breeds. Retrievers were bred primarily to retrieve birds or other prey and return them to the hunter without damage.

Step 1. Outline the main parts of the retriever dog.

Start by outlining the parts of the dog's body using several circles and ovals.

 

Step 2. Using the auxiliary lines, draw the silhouette of the retriever dog.

On top of the ovals we drew in the previous step, we outline the silhouette of our retriever dog. Then we erase the auxiliary ovals and lines.

Step 3. Draw the muzzle of the retriever dog. Draw the dog's paws.
