How to Draw A Gargoyle With A Pencil Step-By-Step Drawing Tutorial
In Halloween spirit, for this lesson we will draw a gargoyle in stages with a pencil. The gargoyle is originally a drainage structure in Gothic buildings, which was depicted in various forms, demons, mermaids, dragons, etc. Subsequently, the gargoyle began to have a mythical character, a demonic image of an animal that drives away evil spirits.
The drawing will have a side view, we outline the back of the gargoyle as well as mark the pedestal.
In this step we are drawing the frame of the future gargoyle drawing. With a few auxiliary lines and circles we show the limbs, wings, and joints. Now we are slowly starting to add details. I start with the head, because then it will be easier to understand what the whole gargoyle will be like.
Now, using the frame lines from the previous step, we outline the general view. The main thing here is not to rush and carefully look at what happens making sure the dimensions are right.
Step 4. Harden the original lines, drawing gargoyle in more detail.
So, now let's give free rein to imagination and begin to carefully draw our gargoyle. Add horns and spikes to taste. Let's not forget the muscles. And remember, the scarier the better. As you can see, in this step we draw over the original auxiliary lines making them harder while slowly erasing the auxiliary lines.
Step 5. Hatching the gargoyle drawing.
And the end result. Let's breathe life into our demon. Work the shadows, the texture of the stone, and everything else that makes the gargoyle look real.
